PROJECT OUTLINE
Narraburra Farm engaged Precinct Urban Planning to provide town planning assistance to convert disused church into short term accommodation for visitors and tourists of the surrounding region at Kooroongarra. The building was originally opened in approximately 1907 and was utilised as St Albans Anglican Church, until June 2007 when it was officially closed by the Bishop. The development seeks to reutilise, refurbish and extend the church which will assist in maintaining the character and history of the site, while providing an experience and much needed accommodation for visitors to the area.
The proposed accommodation is primarily intended to provide accommodation to visitors of a nearby nature-based tourism use, however, will also provide accommodation to guests through platforms such as “AirBnB” or similar in periods (where the accommodation for guests of the nature-based tourism facility is not required). The premises will accommodate a maximum of two guests at any one time.
