Precinct Urban Planning was engaged by Moree Plains Shire Council to provide town planning assistance associated with the refurbishment of the existing Library and Cultural Centre, which formed part of Stage 1 of the redevelopment of the Moree Plains Cultural Precinct. The project involved the development of the theatre and associated main multi-purpose area and the inclusion of a lift within the existing library. The development utilised the existing building area and comprised internal refurbishment works to improve the safety and usability of the premises. The development was designed so that the external façade of the building was retained to ensure its compatibility with the Heritage Conservation Area within the Moree CBD.
