Precinct Urban Planning was engaged by Australian Country Choice Feedlots Pty Ltd to provide town planning assistance associated with a combined development application seeking Development Permits for a Material Change of Use (MCU) for an Intensive Animal Industry (Cattle Feedlot), an MCU for Rural Workers Accommodation; and Environmentally Relevant Activity (ERA) for Intensive Animal Feedlotting. The Intensive Animal Industry involves the establishment of a Cattle Feedlot on the subject land. The proposed Feedlot will have an ultimate capacity of 65,000 Standard Cattle Units (SCUs) including on-site infrastructure. The Rural Workers Accommodation use will form part of an integrated accommodation village that will include a series of single storey prefabricated transportable accommodation modules, and shared laundry, kitchen, dining and ablutions facilities. Part of the integrated accommodation village will be utilised for Non-resident Workforce Accommodation. The application also sought approval for an Environmentally Relevant Activity (ERA) No. 2 (1)(c): Intensive Animal Feedlotting (> 10,000 Standard Cattle Units).
