PROJECT OUTLINE

Specialised Disposal Services engaged Precinct Urban Planning to provide town planning assistance and advice for the establishment of a Chemical Storage Facility in Yamanto. The project also involved a Development Permit for an Environmentally Relevant Activity (ERA) for Resource Recovery and Transfer Facility Operation. The Chemical Storage Facility, developed in two stages, involved the storage of out of date and/or out of tolerance chemicals, liquids and other substances collected from surrounding schools, universities and other private laboratories. The waste is not decanted or processed in anyway, instead, it is received and temporarily stored in its primary secure packaging, consolidated into chemical types and dispatched off-site. All chemicals are stored temporarily on the site in bunded areas, before being transported to an independent disposal facility.
