PROJECT OUTLINE
Precinct Urban Planning is proud to have facilitated the redevelopment of the historic ‘Gasworks’ site on Chalk Drive, Toowoomba City.
The site is within Toowoomba’s Priority Development Area (PDA) which has been specifically set up by the State Government to facilitate economic development in key areas. The PDA Development Application sought approval for Multiple Dwelling and Shopping Centre uses to establish a 56-unit apartment building and supermarket-anchored retail complex, including on-site parking.
The mixed-use precinct will be focused around a pedestrian plaza which will feature the historic gasworks brick chimney. It is anticipated that the proposal will be a catalyst for other development within the PDA and the city’s inner north and will increase investor confidence and drive other development nearby.
