The project involved varying the underlying existing industrial zoning of the land to allow for the re-purposing of existing industrial buildings to be used as a mixed-use commercial precinct. The subject land is identified as a State Heritage Place on the Queensland Heritage Register and a Local Heritage Place under the Planning Scheme. The development was designed to ensure that heritage values associated with the place were maintained and protected.
