PROJECT OUTLINE
Precinct Urban Planning was engaged by 47 Industrial Pty Ltd to provide town planning advice and assistance associated with the development of a self-storage facility in Charlton. The facility consisted of 7 buildings which housed 565 storage units available for lease by the general public.
The development included a security gate at the access point setback from the frontage to allow a vehicle to queue while waiting for the gate to open, without conflicting with other vehicles on Moorebank Rd. The internal layout of the site allows for most vehicle types to appropriately manoeuvre throughout the site. All internal movement areas only allow for one-way traffic. The design means that vehicles accessing storage units can park in proximity to the units without impeding traffic movement through the site.
The project provided for a need within the community for long and short-term storage options.
