Precinct Urban Planning was engaged by Gatton Solar Farm Pty Ltd (European Energy) to provide town planning assistance associated with the establishment of a 16.6 MW solar farm with a 4.5MWh battery storage. The site is adjacent to a 33KV high voltage transmission line and is located 1.5km from the Gatton substation and will be connected to the high voltage transmission grid. The project when constructed will occupy a fully fenced area of approximately 19.93 hectares that will be operated remotely.
The project involved the start of a new use of premises and required a Material Change of Use development application. This application was impact assessable and required public notification of the development under the Planning Act 2016.
