PROJECT OUTLINE

Precinct Urban Planning was engaged by Lake Fox Limited to provide town planning assistance associated with the Material Change of Use (MCU) for a Warehouse and Hazardous Chemical Facility on land at Helidon, Queensland which is located within an emerging industrial locality. Approval of an Environmentally Relevant Activity (ERA) for the chemical storage facility was also involved. Precinct submitted a combined application for Development Permits for an MCU and ERA to Lockyer Valley Regional Council. There was already an approved Transport Depot and the proposed application sought to augment the existing use to incorporate the storage of dangerous and regulated goods.

The new use involved the site being used for the storage of chemicals in isotainers (ISO Tanks) which are robust vessels within a frame suited to being securely positioned onto a truck for transport or stored on a hardstand pad. A number of supporting engineering and environmental reports were submitted with the application, which was ultimately approved by Council after having undergone rigorous Council and State Government assessment.
